Superpower Launches World's First Super-App for Comprehensive Health Insights

Health tech startup Superpower is revolutionizing the way people approach their health with the public launch of its comprehensive super-app, designed to provide users with a deeper understanding of their health and empower them to take control of their well-being.

The startup's innovative platform offers biannual lab testing that analyzes over 100 blood biomarkers across 21 categories, giving users a more comprehensive look at their health than a standard physical exam. Members can conduct these tests either at home or at one of Superpower's 2,000 partner labs nationwide. The results are then integrated with past medical records, fitness trackers, and genetics to create a personalized overview of the user's health, highlighting potential concerns and providing an action plan to address them.

The founders of Superpower, Jacob Peters, Max Marchione, and Kevin Unkrich, were motivated to create the platform after experiencing personal struggles with the healthcare system. Peters nearly lost his life after spending $2 million on medical bills for undiagnosed conditions, while Marchione faced decades of misdiagnoses and Unkrich lost a close friend to a brain tumor due to delayed diagnosis. They recognized that these incidents are not isolated and that 40% of Americans suffer from conditions that could have been identified and addressed earlier with the right information.

Superpower's biannual lab testing covers various aspects of health, including nutrient and mineral levels, hormone balance, and metabolic health, which is linked to the risk of cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, and neurodegenerative conditions. Members can also opt for additional specialty tests, such as gut microbiome analysis and Grail cancer screening, for an extra fee. The app's Superpower Score and Biological Age features track overall health progress and identify areas for improvement.

Once users receive their personalized health results, they are connected to an integrated marketplace of healthcare service providers and have access to a 24/7 AI and human hybrid concierge care team for personalized guidance. Superpower aims to become the new front door to the healthcare system, providing users with a lifelong health partner and replacing the fragmented healthcare experience.

The startup is not looking to replace actual doctor visits but rather to provide a comprehensive platform for users to understand and manage their health. As Marchione noted, "The reality is that every single day there are a billion Google searches related to health... We want to replace that with a trusted, reliable, and accurate source of information."

Alongside its public launch, Superpower is announcing a $30 million Series A funding round led by Forerunner, with participation from notable celebrities and investors. The company has already amassed a waitlist of 150,000 people and plans to open up the app to as many users as possible while calibrating demand. Superpower's platform is currently accessible through a web app, with iOS and Android apps planned for future release.

With its innovative approach to health management, Superpower is poised to disrupt the healthcare industry and empower individuals to take control of their health. As Peters stated, "This is really just where the journey starts... From here, Superpower becomes the new front door to the healthcare system."
