Roborock Unveils Revolutionary Robot Vacuum with Arm, Surpasses iRobot in Sales

Chinese technology company Roborock has officially opened pre-orders for its highly anticipated Saros Z70 robot vacuum, which boasts a robotic arm and a hefty price tag of $1,899. The company's latest innovation is not only a game-changer in the world of floor cleaning but also marks a significant milestone for Roborock, as it surpasses iRobot as the top-selling robot vacuum brand globally in both sales volume and revenue.

According to analyst firm IDC, Roborock claimed 16 percent of global market share in Q4, while iRobot, which recently announced financial troubles, managed 13.7 percent. Fellow Chinese company Ecovacs came in third with 13.5 percent. This achievement is a testament to Roborock's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, which has enabled the company to rapidly expand its market presence.

The Saros Z70, unveiled at CES this year, is the first mass-produced robot vacuum to feature a robotic arm. The OmniGrip arm extends from the robot to pick up small items, including socks, tissues, and sandals, to help it clean homes more effectively. The Z70 also boasts 22,000Pa suction power and Roborock's new StarSight navigation system, which combines 3D sensors, cameras, and machine learning to navigate and identify obstacles.

In addition to its cutting-edge technology, the Saros Z70 features an "AdaptiLift Chassis," which allows the robot to get up and over high transitions between rooms. The robot also comes with two-in-one mopping and vacuuming capabilities and a multifunction dock that cleans the robot's dual-spinning mop pads and fills its water tank, as well as emptying its dustbin.

To sweeten the deal, Roborock is offering those who pre-order the Saros Z70 the choice of a free vacuum from a selection of eight models, including two brand new robot vacuum models, the Qrevo S5V and the Q10 S5 Plus. While pricing for these new models has not been announced, the Qrevo Curv retails for $1,599.99, and the Dyad Pro Combo is priced at $659.99.

The buy one get one free offer helps to mitigate the sticker shock of the Z70, and until robots can climb stairs, having a second robot vac can be a convenient addition to any smart home. With the Saros Z70, Roborock is poised to further solidify its position as a leader in the robot vacuum market, and its innovative approach is likely to drive the industry forward.

Shipping for the Saros Z70 is slated to begin in May, and customers can pre-order the device now. As the smart home market continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how Roborock's latest innovation impacts the industry and shapes the future of floor cleaning technology.
