Apple Unveils Public Version of Apple Intelligence, Bringing AI Capabilities to Select Devices

In a major milestone, Apple is finally rolling out its generative AI platform, Apple Intelligence, to the public next week as part of its latest operating system updates. The platform, which has been available to developers since its unveiling four months ago, will bring a range of AI-powered features to select iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.

Apple Intelligence offers a suite of tools, including integrated writing tools, image cleanup, article summaries, and a typing input for the redesigned Siri experience. The platform's capabilities will be further expanded with the upcoming release of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, which will introduce additional features such as Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, Image Wand, and ChatGPT integration.

However, not all devices will be compatible with Apple Intelligence, due to hardware limitations. Only iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, all iPhone 16 models, iPads with an A17 Pro chip, and Macs with an M1 or later processor will be able to run the AI features.

To access Apple Intelligence, users will need to opt-in and may be placed on a temporary waitlist while Apple's servers process their requests. This move marks a significant step forward in Apple's AI ambitions and is likely to have a major impact on the tech and startup community.
