Anker Unveils Innovative 140W Wall Charger with Bottom Ports and Power Display

Anker has announced a groundbreaking new 140W wall charger at CES 2025, boasting a innovative design that relocates the charging ports to the underside of the device. This clever tweak aims to improve the charger's center of gravity, making it less prone to falling out of outlets when cables are attached.

The Anker Charger (140W) with display, priced at $89.99, is the company's first wall charger to feature a built-in screen. This display shows the power output for each of the four USB ports, providing users with real-time information on their device's charging status. The charger itself is capable of delivering up to 140W of power, with two USB-C ports capable of outputting up to 140W and the third maxing out at 40W. The single USB-A port is limited to 33W.

One potential drawback of the new design is that the repositioned ports might make it more challenging to plug in devices in low-light environments. However, the benefits of this design change appear to outweigh the drawbacks. Anker's previous solution to the issue of heavier GaN chargers falling out of outlets was to introduce a smaller design with thicker, textured prongs offering more grip. The new design takes this concept a step further, allowing for the simultaneous charging of four devices while minimizing the risk of the charger falling out.

In addition to the wall charger, Anker has also debuted the new 25,000mAh power bank, priced at $99.99. This portable power source features two integrated USB-C cables, including one that fully retracts and another that transforms into a carrying strap. The power bank's display shows how much power is being drawn by the devices connected to each port, making it easy to monitor charging status on-the-go.

The power bank itself is compact, roughly the size of a soda can, and can deliver a total of up to 165W of power across three USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. Alternatively, it can provide up to 100W to a single USB-C port for fast-charging laptops. With its impressive capacity and feature set, the new power bank is poised to become a popular choice among users who need reliable, high-capacity portable power.

Anker's innovative designs and feature additions are likely to resonate with users who value convenience, safety, and high-performance charging. As the company continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of charging technology, it will be interesting to see how competitors respond and how these advancements impact the broader tech landscape.

Both the Anker Charger (140W) with display and the 25,000mAh power bank are set to become available starting on January 7th, 2025. With their unique features and impressive capabilities, these new products are sure to generate significant interest among tech enthusiasts and everyday users alike.
