The first week of December has brought a slew of exciting trailers to the entertainment scene, giving fans a glimpse into what's to come in the world of TV shows and movies. From the highly anticipated Star Trek: Section 31 to the return of Severance and the introduction of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, this week's trailers have something for everyone.
Let's start with Star Trek: Section 31, a straight-to-streaming spy movie spinoff of Star Trek: Discovery. The trailer promises a thrilling ride, with Michelle Yeoh reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou. Fantasy fans, meanwhile, can look forward to the return of The Wheel of Time, which continues its retelling of the Robert Jordan epic on March 13th next year. The trailer for season three follows Joshua Stradowski's Rand al'Thor and Rosamund Pike's Moiraine Damodred as they venture into the Aiel Waste, a dark and ominous time in the series.
For those who prefer their sci-fi with a romantic twist, The Gorge promises to deliver. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the movie follows two snipers, Levi and Drasa, played by Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, who fall in love despite being stationed on opposite sides of a mysterious gorge. The film premieres on Apple TV Plus on February 14th.
Last but not least, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is set to delight giant robot anime fans. Produced by Khara, the studio behind the Rebuild of Evangelion films, the show follows a high schooler named Yuzuriha "Machu" Amate and pilot Shuji Ito as they co-pilot the massive, sword-wielding robot. Some episodes will head to Japanese theaters on January 17th.
