The wait is over! TechCrunch has announced the five finalists of the prestigious Startup Battlefield 2024, a platform that has launched successful startups like Dropbox, Discord, Cloudflare, and Mint. From a pool of 200 selected companies, these five innovators will pitch their groundbreaking ideas to a panel of esteemed investors and a packed audience on October 30.
The finalists include Gecko Materials, which has developed a super-strong dry-adhesive inspired by geckos' feet; Luna, a health and wellbeing app designed for teen girls; MabLab, creators of a testing strip that detects dangerous drug additives; Salva, a portable device for early breast cancer detection; and Stitch3D, which uses lidar technology to assess damage and investigate incidents.
These startups have already demonstrated their potential, and the Startup Battlefield stage is their chance to shine. With over 1,500 alumni having participated in the program, Startup Battlefield has a proven track record of launching successful startups that have collectively raised over $29 billion in funding and achieved more than 200 successful exits.
The final pitch event will take place on October 30, with a panel of judges comprising Navin Chaddha (Mayfield), Chris Farmer (SignalFire), Dayna Grayson (Construct Capital), Ann Miura-Ko (Floodgate), and Hans Tung (Notable Capital). The winner will take home the coveted Startup Battlefield trophy and a cash prize, but all five finalists have already made their mark on the tech and startup community.
