SwitchBot has announced a significant expansion of its smart home product lineup with the introduction of a cutting-edge video doorbell and an upgraded locking system. The new video doorbell, which comes with a 4.3-inch in-home display, offers users a seamless way to monitor and interact with visitors at their doorstep.
The innovative doorbell display, which can be mounted on a wall or placed on a table, serves as a "gateway" for SwitchBot products, allowing users to see who's at their door, communicate with visitors, and control their door lock. The display is powered by a simple plug-in connection, making it easy to set up and use.
The video doorbell itself boasts impressive features, including 2K resolution, color night vision, and a 165-degree wide-angle view. It also comes equipped with AI motion detection and Amazon Alexa integration, providing users with a comprehensive and convenient home security solution. The doorbell is available in both wired and battery-powered models, with the latter option offering the flexibility of USB-C charging or solar panel powering.
In addition to the video doorbell, SwitchBot has also unveiled an upgrade to its SwitchBot Lock Pro, dubbed the SwitchBot Lock Ultra. This advanced locking system is designed to provide enhanced security and convenience, with features such as a rechargeable battery that lasts up to nine months (or up to 12 months with the "extra large" battery option) and an "emergency battery" backup in case of cold temperatures.
The SwitchBot Lock Ultra offers an impressive 16 different methods of unlocking, including fingerprint recognition, NFC, voice commands via Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, and through the SwitchBot app. It can store up to 100 fingerprints and recognize them in as fast as 0.3 seconds, according to SwitchBot. The device also supports auto locking, allowing users to lock their door at a specific time.
Both the SwitchBot Lock Ultra and the new video doorbell with in-home display are set to arrive in the market towards the end of the first quarter of 2025. While pricing details have not been disclosed, the innovative features and enhanced security capabilities of these products are likely to generate significant interest among smart home enthusiasts and security-conscious consumers.
The introduction of these new products marks a significant milestone for SwitchBot, as the company continues to expand its presence in the smart home market. With its focus on innovative design, advanced security features, and user convenience, SwitchBot is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for smart home solutions.
