Luxembourg-based SUSE has made a significant move into the Software as a Service (SaaS) market with the early access launch of SUSE Cloud Observability, a fully managed observability platform designed for Rancher-managed multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters.
The new platform, built on SUSE's acquisition of StackState earlier this year, enables enterprises to monitor their workloads in Rancher-managed clusters across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The service offers a set of pre-configured policies and dashboards to get users started. According to SUSE CEO Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen, the launch marks a significant milestone for the company, which has traditionally focused on Linux- and cloud-centric infrastructure and security tools.
The move into SaaS is a strategic one for SUSE, which sees significant growth potential in its Rancher business. Van Leeuwen highlighted the importance of offering customers a flexible, open-source solution that can be tailored to their specific needs. The company is also launching its AI platform into general availability, focusing on security and scalability for enterprises.
