Segway, a leading micromobility company, has unveiled two groundbreaking e-bikes at CES 2025, designed to transform the cycling experience. The Xyber and Xafari e-bikes boast cutting-edge technology, innovative designs, and unparalleled performance, making them a game-changer in the micromobility industry.
The Xyber, priced at $2,999.99, is an unclassified e-bike that defies categorization. With its moto aesthetic, the Xyber packs impressive power, featuring up to 175 Nm max torque, up to 6,000 watts of peak power, and a top speed of 35 miles per hour in its dual-battery configuration. This e-bike is not intended for use on public roadways or bike paths, but a road-legal version is expected to launch in spring or summer 2025, complying with federal Class 2 e-bike designations and featuring additional safety features for on-road use.
In contrast, the Xafari, available for $2,399.99, is a classic yet modern step-through cruiser, suitable for all terrains and riders. This e-bike boasts an adjustable design, allowing riders from 5'1" to 6'2" to find comfort. The Xafari also features advanced suspension, 26 x 3-inch tires, and a 936 Kw battery that can be removed for indoor charging, providing a range of up to 88 miles.
Both e-bikes share Segway's Intelligent Ride System, a suite of smart tech and features that enhance the riding experience. This includes AirLock, Apple Find My and Segway GPS, adaptive pedal assist, intelligent lighting system, health and fitness data syncing, IOT for over-the-air updates, and remote control via the app. The e-bikes also feature a smart TFT display that automatically adjusts brightness for maximum visibility.
The Xafari is designed for practicality, featuring a rear-mounted rack and in-frame hardshell and softshell bags for extra storage on the go. Additionally, the bike's smart battery management system allows riders to charge their cell phones via a USB port and easy-clamp phone holder on the bar.
Segway's innovative e-bikes are now available for pre-order, with expected delivery in February 2025. These groundbreaking e-bikes are poised to revolutionize the micromobility industry, offering riders a safer, more convenient, and more accessible cycling experience.
