Segway, a renowned technology company, has officially launched its Navimow X3 series of robot mowers in the US, catering to homeowners with large lawns. The Navimow X3 series boasts impressive capabilities, with the top-of-the-line X390 model capable of mowing up to 2.5 acres, making it an attractive option for those with expansive outdoor spaces.
The Navimow X3 series comprises several models, ranging from the $2,299 X315, which can cover 0.4 acres, to the $4,999 X390, which can tackle larger lawns. According to Segway, the mower can cover 1.25 acres in 24 hours, twice as fast as the industry average. Additionally, it can mow around 0.3 acres per charge, taking approximately 80 minutes to recharge at its charging station.
One of the standout features of the Navimow X3 series is its advanced navigation system, which uses Segway's Exact Fusion Location System, a camera, and virtual mapping setup that provides a 300-degree field of view. This allows the mower to navigate autonomously without the need for a boundary wire, identifying and avoiding over 200 types of obstacles, including steep slopes, trampolines, toys, and pets. The mower also utilizes real-time weather forecasts to adapt its schedule around rain, snow, and high temperatures.
In terms of convenience, the Navimow X3 series operates at a quiet 60 dB, making it suitable for nighttime use with minimal disturbance. It also features anti-theft GPS tracking capabilities, providing an added layer of security. Users can manage mowing options through the Navimow app or using voice controls via integrations with Alexa and Google Home.
The Navimow X3 series is competitively priced, with the X390 model coming in cheaper than Husqvarna's $5,900 Automower 450X EPOS, one of the few other 2.5-acre capable robot mowers on the market. However, Husqvarna is set to release the new Automower IQ lineup, which will provide a similar array of coverage options to the Navimow X3 series, starting at $2,999 for the 0.5-acre capable Automower 410 iQ.
The launch of the Navimow X3 series marks a significant expansion of Segway's presence in the smart home and lawn care markets. As the demand for automated lawn care solutions continues to grow, Segway's latest offering is poised to make a significant impact in the industry.
In the coming months, Segway plans to release additional accessories for the Navimow X3 series, including a trimmer, fertilizer spreader, and mosquito repellant module, which are expected to launch in Summer 2025. With its advanced features, competitive pricing, and expanding ecosystem of accessories, the Navimow X3 series is set to revolutionize the way homeowners maintain their lawns.
