Schwinn has brought back its iconic Hurricane bike from the 1970s, this time as a modern e-bike designed for riders aged 13 and above. The Hurricane Compact Electric Bike combines the classic's styling with the convenience of an electric motor and rechargeable battery, making it an attractive option for younger riders.
The e-bike features a 250-watt hub motor, 36V 7.8Ah lithium-ion battery, and standard disc brakes. It has a top speed of 17.5mph and a range of up to 30 miles on a single five-hour charge, when using pedal assist. The bike also comes with a twist throttle for riding without pedaling, although this will reduce the range significantly.
Priced at $599.99, the Hurricane Compact Electric Bike is more affordable than similar offerings from brands like Juiced Bikes and Super73, which start at over $1,500. This could make Schwinn's electrified Hurricane a compelling choice for younger riders looking for a fun and convenient mode of transportation.
