SATELLAI Unveils Revolutionary Dog Tracker with Direct Satellite Connectivity at CES 2025

In a groundbreaking move, startup SATELLAI has introduced a game-changing dog tracker and smart collar at CES 2025, poised to disrupt the estimated $1.72 million smart pet wearable market. The innovative device boasts direct satellite connectivity, eliminating the need for an LTE signal, and offers a range of features that set it apart from existing pet trackers and smart collars.

The company, founded by Mark Mao, former employee of Chinese smart wearables company Huami, was born out of Mao's personal experience of his dog injuring its leg while he was away. This incident sparked the idea for SATELLAI, which aims to provide pet owners with a comprehensive solution for monitoring and caring for their pets.

The SATELLAI pet tracker and smart collar are equipped with seven different sensors that monitor the pet's health, including breath and heart rate. The device also features an AI coach, accessible through the companion app, which provides personalized training and pet care recommendations tailored to the specific dog.

What sets SATELLAI's offering apart is its ability to connect directly with satellite tracking without the need for a terrestrial signal like LTE. This is made possible by the Qualcomm 9205S modem, allowing the tracker to continuously transmit a location, even in remote areas lacking nearby cell towers. According to the company, this is the first dog tracker to offer this type of direct satellite connectivity.

Additionally, the tracker comes with a harness that features a built-in solar panel, enabling it to recharge while the dog wears it. The collar also uses dual signal transmitters for L1 and L5 signals, providing more accurate positioning in cluttered environments. This is particularly useful when the collar is around many objects, such as trees, walls, and so on, for signals to bounce off of.

The SATELLAI collar also offers features like virtual fencing and different types of correctional feedback to minimize barking or prevent dogs from walking up to specific areas, like a swimming pool or thorny rose bushes. These features are designed to provide pet owners with greater peace of mind and control over their pet's behavior.

The SATELLAI smart collar is set to be available in February, while the company tentatively plans to launch the tracker sometime in the spring. Although the final price of either product has yet to be determined, the innovative technology and comprehensive feature set are likely to generate significant interest in the pet tech space.

The launch of SATELLAI's dog tracker and smart collar at CES 2025 marks a significant milestone in the development of the smart pet wearable market. As the market continues to grow, it will be interesting to see how SATELLAI's innovative solution is received by pet owners and how it will shape the future of pet care and monitoring.
