Samsung Galaxy Phones Get a Boost with Routines Automation Tool

Samsung's One UI has introduced a powerful automation tool called Routines, designed to simplify users' lives by automating repetitive tasks on their Galaxy phones. This innovative feature allows users to create customized routines that can be triggered by specific times, locations, or phone states, and then perform a range of actions to make their lives easier.

Routines can be tailored to suit individual needs, with triggers covering times, locations, and phone states, such as Do Not Disturb and low battery. The actions that can be performed in response to these triggers are vast, including adjusting notifications, display settings, and Bluetooth, as well as launching apps or specific functions like making the phone vibrate or turning on the flashlight.

The possibilities for customization are endless, with users able to disable notifications while exercising with Samsung Health, mute their phone during meetings, or bring up the weather forecast when dismissing their morning alarm. Moreover, users can combine multiple triggers and actions, making the feature even more versatile. Routines can also be launched manually, providing users with greater control.

For those looking for inspiration, Samsung has provided a range of pre-set Routines that can be accessed through the Discover tab in the Modes and Routines section of the Settings app. Users can also create their own custom Routines by following a few simple steps. To create a new Routine, users need to head to the Modes and Routines section, tap the + button, and then select the trigger and action they want to associate with it.

Users can also set conditions for both the trigger and action, allowing for greater control over when and how the Routine is executed. For example, users can specify a location that acts as the trigger or set a specific brightness level for the action. Once the Routine is created, users can give it a name, icon, and color to identify it, and then save it.

Managing Routines is also straightforward, with users able to view and modify their Routines at any time through the Modes and Routines screen. Routines can be grouped by active and inactive ones, and users can cancel or stop a Routine that is currently running. Users can also edit or delete a Routine, and even duplicate or disable it if needed.

In addition, users can access the History of recently run Routines and adjust settings for new Routines, including choosing default notification options and opting to have a Modes and Routines shortcut in their phone's app drawer for easy access.

Overall, Samsung's Routines feature is a powerful tool that can greatly simplify users' lives by automating repetitive tasks on their Galaxy phones. With its high level of customization and ease of use, Routines is set to become an essential feature for many Samsung users.
