Reveal Technology Revolutionizes Military Decision-Making with AI-Powered Farsight Software

Military operators often face high-stakes environments where timely and accurate information is crucial. However, they are frequently hindered by outdated technology that fails to provide a comprehensive understanding of their surroundings. To address this challenge, Reveal Technology has developed Farsight, a cutting-edge software that rapidly converts drone video into 3D maps, empowering military operators to make informed decisions in real-time.

Farsight offers a significant upgrade over traditional 2D maps, which are often generated from years-old satellite data and fail to reflect the dynamic nature of a battlefield. Reveal Technology's co-founder and CEO, Garrett Smith, a U.S. Marine Corps officer with deployments in Afghanistan, South Asia, and South America, emphasized the importance of accurate and timely information in high-pressure environments. "If you're facing off against an adversary, any number of things could change in that environment. Farsight solves all of that by giving you a fresh, time-now, three-dimensional, high-resolution model of the operating environment," Smith explained.

Reveal Technology has been working closely with multiple branches of the U.S. Department of Defense to integrate Farsight into the hands of operators. The company is already in production with several programs with the Army, Special Operations Command, Marine Corps, and foreign militaries. Farsight's capabilities extend beyond 3D mapping, allowing users to simulate an adversary's field of view, plan routes, determine height and distance, and access other analytics.

Smith's experience in the military highlighted the lack of technological preparedness within the U.S. Department of Defense. He recognized the opportunity to leverage commercial drone technology and consumer smartphones to create a software solution that could provide critical information to military operators. After leaving active service, Smith founded Reveal Technology in 2018 with three colleagues, with the goal of building a software tool that could reduce the cognitive burden on human operators.

In addition to Farsight, Reveal Technology has acquired DFL Technology, incorporating its product, Identifi, a smartphone-based biometrics and human identity data collection and verification system. The acquisition strengthens Reveal Technology's position in providing tactical information at the edge and in mobile environments, with Farsight focusing on physical terrain and Identifi on human terrain.

Investors have taken notice of Reveal Technology's innovative approach, with the company recently closing an $11.2 million Series A funding round led by Next Frontier Capital, with participation from defy.vc and 8VC. The funding will enable Reveal Technology to scale its team and expand its product lineup, with the ambitious goal of dominating the mobile and edge space.

The implications of Reveal Technology's Farsight software are far-reaching, with the potential to revolutionize military decision-making and enhance operational effectiveness. As the company continues to push the boundaries of AI-powered technology, it is likely to have a significant impact on the future of military operations and beyond.
