iPhone 17 Air Leaks Reveal Thinnest Design Yet, with 5.5mm Thickness

Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the thinnest phone yet, with recent leaks suggesting a remarkable 5.5mm thickness. This would make it even thinner than the 6.9mm iPhone 6, which was previously the thinnest iPhone model. The latest rumors come from leaker Ice Universe, who also predicts a 6.9-inch screen size, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The design of the iPhone 17 Air has been a topic of interest, with various rumors and leaks emerging over the past few months. Another analyst, Jeff Pu, had previously predicted a 6mm thickness, while Ming-Chi Kuo predicted a 6.6-inch screen size. However, Ice Universe's latest leak provides a more detailed look at the phone's design, including a Google Pixel-like camera bar stretching left-to-right on the back of the device.

A recent video posted by YouTuber iDeviceHelp, in collaboration with leaker Majin Bu, shows a mockup of the iPhone 17 Air, Pro Max, and standard models. The video highlights the phone's edge, which bears a striking resemblance to the 5.1mm 13-inch M4 iPad Pro, the thinnest Apple device currently available. The camera bar on the back of the phone is also notable, as it appears to provide additional stability when the phone is placed on its back. However, the rear cameras still protrude from the bar, suggesting that it may not be a perfect design solution.

In addition to the camera bar, the mockups also show the phone with buttons in the same locations as current iPhones, a USB-C port, and speaker holes on the bottom. The phone is expected to feature a Dynamic Island and Face ID on the front. While the renders and mockups provide a detailed look at the phone's design, it's unclear how accurate they are, and fans will have to wait until September, when Apple typically releases its latest flagship iPhones, to find out.

The iPhone 17 Air's remarkably thin design is likely to be a major selling point for Apple, as the company continues to push the boundaries of smartphone design. With the latest leaks and rumors, it's clear that Apple is focusing on creating a sleek and compact device that still packs a punch in terms of features and functionality. As the release date approaches, fans will be eagerly anticipating the official unveiling of the iPhone 17 Air and its impressive new design.

In the meantime, Apple enthusiasts can continue to speculate about the phone's features and capabilities, based on the latest leaks and rumors. With the iPhone 17 Air shaping up to be one of the most exciting smartphone releases of the year, it's clear that Apple is still at the forefront of innovation in the tech industry.
