South Korean automaker Hyundai has unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the Ioniq 9, a three-row electric SUV with a range of over 300 miles. The new EV is built on Hyundai's E-GMP platform and will come in two versions: Long Range and Performance, each with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive options.
The Ioniq 9 boasts a 110.3kWh battery and features a suite of amenities, including Tesla Supercharger-supporting North American Charging System ports, bidirectional charging, and a UV-C sterilizer in the glovebox. The vehicle also offers "Relaxation Seats" in the Calligraphy line, which fully recline with a leg rest and massage function, allowing up to four people to relax during vehicle charging.
Hyundai's commitment to electric vehicles is evident in its extensive consumer research and investment in its new "Metaplant" in Georgia, a joint venture with LG Energy Solution. The company remains committed to meeting customer demands, despite uncertainty surrounding President-elect Donald Trump's threatened tariff plans and the potential impact on the production of the Ioniq 9.
