Honor has officially launched its flagship Magic 7 Pro in the UK and Europe, boasting top-tier specifications and features that position it as a strong competitor in the premium smartphone market. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the Magic 7 Pro is one of the first phones to release outside of China with this chipset, making it one of the most powerful devices available.
The Magic 7 Pro's impressive specs are complemented by its IP69 water-resistance rating, which not only protects against dust and submersion in water but also steam and high-pressure water jets. This feature, also seen in the new OnePlus 13 and Motorola's Moto G Power, makes the device ideal for users who regularly expose their phones to harsh environments.
The phone's camera capabilities are equally impressive, with a 200 megapixel 3x periscopic camera that is bolstered by an AI Super Zoom feature. This feature kicks in at 30x zoom, providing added clarity and utilizing a combination of on-device and cloud-based large language models to fine-tune images. The Magic 7 Pro also ships with Android 15 and Google's Gemini AI app, which Honor has enhanced with its own AI-powered translation and notes apps.
The Magic 7 Pro's launch in Europe marks the device's first appearance outside of China, where it was initially released in November. Honor's growth in global market share in 2024 can be attributed to the success of its previous flagship Magic 6 series and the Magic V3, which remains the thinnest foldable phone available.
In addition to the Magic 7 Pro, Honor has also launched the Magic 7 Lite, a midrange handset that uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip and runs on Android 14. The Magic 7 Lite's key selling point is its enormous 6,600mAh battery, which Honor claims will last for three days. There is no sign of the regular Magic 7, which launched alongside the Pro in China.
The Magic 7 Pro is available to order now from honor.com, starting at £1,099.99 / €1,299 (approximately $1,340), with major retailers and local carriers set to stock it soon. The Magic 7 Lite is priced at £399.99 / €369 and is also available now.
With its flagship-grade specifications, impressive camera capabilities, and robust build quality, the Honor Magic 7 Pro is poised to make a significant impact in the premium smartphone market. As the competition heats up, it will be interesting to see how the Magic 7 Pro fares against other flagship devices, including the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series.
