In a move to revolutionize the traditional greeting card industry, Hallmark has introduced a new line of physical cards that come with digital gift cards inside. Dubbed "Gift Card Greetings," these innovative cards offer a more personal and convenient way to give gifts.
The cards feature a QR code on the inside flap, which can be used to load and redeem the gift card value. The recipient simply scratches off a line to reveal the code, which can then be entered on their smartphone to redeem the gift. To ensure the gift isn't overlooked, a banner on the top of the card reminds the recipient that there's a digital gift inside.
This new product is an expansion of Hallmark's previous digital-gift-in-a-physical-card concept, which allowed users to include cash via Venmo. The Gift Card Shop, a partner in this venture, provides options for over 100 retailers, including popular brands like Best Buy, DoorDash, and Xbox.
The "Gift Card Greetings" line is now available for purchase on Hallmark's website, its Gold Crown physical stores, and select retailers, priced at $4.99. This innovative product is set to disrupt the traditional greeting card industry and provide a more convenient and personalized way to give gifts.
