Eureka has unveiled its latest flagship robot vacuum, the J15 Max Ultra, which boasts a groundbreaking feature: the ability to detect and clean wet messes using infrared technology. Debuting at CES 2025, this innovative robot vacuum and mop is designed to tackle liquid spills, a common pain point for homeowners, without damaging its internal components.
Most robot vacuum mops on the market can mop floors and clean dried-on stains, but they often struggle with wet messes, smearing liquids around or risking damage to their internal mechanisms. Eureka's J15 Max Ultra addresses this issue with its infrared vision system, which can detect the 3D structure of objects in front of it, regardless of lighting conditions. This allows the robot to spot and react to liquid spills, both clear and colored, and adjust its cleaning approach accordingly.
According to Yuan Ruan, PR manager of Midea Group, which owns Eureka, the J15 Max Ultra's infrared vision system enables it to "detect the 3D structure of anything in front of it no matter what the lighting is." This advanced technology allows the robot to raise its roller brush to avoid sucking up liquids, instead using its mopping pads to clean the spill.
The J15 Max Ultra builds upon the trend of high-end robot vacuums becoming increasingly intelligent about identifying and reacting to specific objects. Models from companies like iRobot and Roborock can determine what to do based on the type of object they spot, adapting their cleaning approach accordingly. Eureka's new liquid spotting ability takes this intelligence to the next level, paving the way for future robot vacuums that can accurately identify most items in our homes and clean them with precision.
The J15 Max Ultra is powered by Eureka's IntelliView AI 2.0 technology, which combines infrared vision with lidar navigation and computer vision to enable the robot to make informed cleaning decisions. The robot also features an extendable side brush for reaching into corners, increased suction power of up to 22,000Pa, and a threshold crossing height of up to 40mm.
In addition to the J15 Max Ultra, Eureka has also introduced the more affordable J15 Ultra to its lineup, which will be available in March 2025. The J15 Max Ultra is set to hit the market in June 2025, with a price tag of $1,299. With its cutting-edge technology and advanced features, the J15 Max Ultra is poised to revolutionize the world of smart home cleaning.
As the robot vacuum market continues to evolve, innovations like Eureka's J15 Max Ultra are pushing the boundaries of what these devices can do. With its ability to tackle wet messes and adapt to different cleaning scenarios, the J15 Max Ultra is a significant step forward in the pursuit of more efficient and effective smart home cleaning.
