Ethiopian Prime Minister: BRICS Can Alter the World Order

In a significant statement, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali emphasized the potential of the BRICS group of nations to transform the global order, promoting a more just and equitable world. Speaking at the 16th BRICS Summit in Russia, the Prime Minister highlighted the collective power of BRICS, representing nearly half of the global population and over a third of the global GDP.

The Prime Minister stressed the need for collective effort to address pressing global challenges, including climate change, inequality, and unemployment. He advocated for BRICS' economic collaboration across sectors, including energy, tourism, and artificial intelligence, to lay the foundations for a more inclusive multilateral world.

Ethiopia, which formally joined BRICS on January 1st, 2024, is committed to food security and aims to become a guarantor of food security through its growing grain production. The country is also pushing for Africa's representation in the UN Security Council, emphasizing the need for fairness and equality in global governance.

The BRICS group, originally comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has been actively working to alter the global economic order and expand its economic power. The organization's main goal is to control the world market by bringing together nations with similar economic philosophies.
