Birdfy Unveils Smart Bird Bath with Camera and AI Analysis

Birdfy has announced the launch of its latest innovation, the Birdfy Bath Pro, a smart bird bath equipped with a camera and AI analysis capabilities. This unique device allows users to watch and track birds as they visit the bath, providing a fascinating glimpse into the lives of these feathered creatures.

The Birdfy Bath Pro features two lenses - a 2MP wide-angle lens that shoots at 1080p and a 3MP "Portrait Lens" with 2K resolution. The camera is designed to withstand the elements, with an IP66 waterproof rating that can resist bird splashes, rain, and even a direct blast from a water hose. However, users in cold climates should note that the camera may be slow or not start at all if the outdoor temperature drops below 14 degrees Fahrenheit (or minus 10 degrees Celsius).

The device comes with five interchangeable nozzles that create "captivating water patterns," making it an attractive addition to any backyard. The Bath Pro will notify users when birds arrive, and with the optional AI analysis feature, users can receive daily visitor counts and bird picture highlights. The AI analysis service also provides monthly recaps that rank the user's bath with that of other Birdfy owners.

The Birdfy Bath Pro is available for preorder now, priced at $249.99, or $299.99 with the stand included. The AI analysis service can be added for an additional $50, providing users with a lifetime subscription. The device is powered by an integrated solar panel that keeps its 9,000mAh battery topped up, and features cloud storage for videos and images, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity for real-time video streaming to users' phones.

The launch of the Birdfy Bath Pro marks a logical next step for the company, following the success of its bird feeders, including the newly announced Birdfy Feeder Metal. The metal-housed smart bird feeder features similar capabilities to the Bath Pro, further expanding Birdfy's offerings in the smart bird watching space.

It's worth noting that Birdfy's competitor, Bird Buddy, had announced a prototype for a similar smart bird bath in 2023, but it has yet to start shipping. Birdfy's move to market may give it an advantage in this emerging space, as users increasingly look for innovative ways to engage with nature and monitor wildlife.

The Birdfy Bath Pro has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with birds, providing a unique and captivating experience for users. As the smart home and wildlife monitoring markets continue to grow, Birdfy's latest innovation is likely to be a major player in the space.
