Baldur's Gate 3 to Receive 12 New Subclasses, Crossplay, and Photo Mode in Patch 8

Larian Studios has announced that Patch 8, the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, will be released on April 15th, bringing a slew of exciting features to the game. The update, which was initially announced in November 2024, will introduce 12 new subclasses, crossplay, and a photo mode, among other changes.

The 12 new subclasses will be added to each of the game's main classes, including Bard, Barbarian, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard. This means that players will have even more options to customize their characters and explore different playstyles. The full list of new subclasses was previously revealed by Larian in a November post.

In addition to the new subclasses, Patch 8 will also introduce crossplay, allowing players to play multiplayer with friends across different platforms. This feature has been in testing since January, and its official release will mark a significant milestone for the game's online community.

Another notable feature coming with Patch 8 is the photo mode, which will offer a range of creative tools for players to capture and share their in-game moments. The mode will include features like different lens settings, scene settings, and even stickers, giving players the flexibility to get creative with their screenshots.

Larian Studios will be hosting a Twitch stream on April 16th at 9AM ET to showcase the new features and updates in Patch 8. This will provide players with a closer look at the changes and give them a chance to ask questions and engage with the developers.

With Patch 8, Larian Studios is marking the end of major updates for Baldur's Gate 3. While this may signal the end of significant changes to the game, it's clear that the developer is committed to providing a rich and engaging experience for players. The addition of new subclasses, crossplay, and a photo mode will undoubtedly enhance the game's replay value and attract new players to the community.

The release of Patch 8 on April 15th is a significant event for fans of Baldur's Gate 3, and it will be interesting to see how the new features are received by the community. With its focus on customization, social play, and creative expression, Patch 8 is poised to take the game to the next level.
