Nashville-based startup Artiphon has just released the Orba 3, the latest iteration of its innovative handheld instrument. This new device takes music creation to the next level by incorporating live sampling capabilities, allowing users to record and manipulate sounds on the go.
The Orba 3 features a built-in microphone, enabling users to capture their voice, instruments, and other sounds directly onto the device. This game-changing feature eliminates the need for external systems, making it easier than ever to create music anywhere, anytime. The instrument's four modes – bass, chord, drum, and lead – assign different properties to the sound, further expanding its creative possibilities.
In addition to its sampling capabilities, the Orba 3 can also function as a MIDI controller when connected to an external device via USB-C. This versatility makes it an attractive tool for musicians, producers, and music enthusiasts alike.
The Orba 3 is now available for purchase on Artiphon's website, priced at $160. The company has also reduced the price of its predecessor, the Orba 2, to $120.
