Aqara has announced the launch of three new touchscreen smart home controllers at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, providing users with an alternative way to control their smart devices without relying on their phones or voice assistants. The new controllers, including the Panel Hub S1 Plus, Touchscreen Dial V1, and Touchscreen Switch S100, can be installed in place of a regular light switch and offer a range of features to simplify smart home management.
The Panel Hub S1 Plus is a seven-inch touchscreen smart home controller that can replace an existing light switch. It features a 1440 x 720 resolution display, dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity, and can control devices connected to the panel through the Aqara smart home app. The device also supports Matter devices, exposing six wireless buttons to Matter. Additionally, the Panel Hub S1 Plus can act as a Zigbee hub for connecting Aqara's Zigbee accessories like sensors and locks, and can bridge those devices into Matter.
The Touchscreen Dial V1 is a compact tactile rotary dial with a 1.32-inch touchscreen inside. It can be wired to an existing light fixture and features a temperature and humidity sensor, as well as a presence sensor for screen activation. The device allows users to swipe through the touchscreen to choose a device to control and then turn the dial for fine-tuned adjustments, such as dimming lights or adjusting a thermostat.
The Touchscreen Switch S100 combines physical and digital controls in one device. It features two physical switches and a 1.3-inch touchscreen, allowing users to control an existing light fixture and wirelessly control smart devices and scenes. The device also includes Thread as well as Wi-Fi connectivity and can work as a Thread border router and through Matter over Wi-Fi.
In addition to the new touchscreen controllers, Aqara has also announced the launch of new non-touchscreen smart switches that can connect over Thread or Zigbee. The Aqara Light Switch H2 and Dimmer Switch H2 come in several switch configurations and don't require a neutral wire. The Light Switch H2 can also control Aqara's wired smart lighting products, such as its T1M ceiling light, giving users an option for physical control that doesn't cut off the device's smart features.
Aqara has also expanded its range of smart sensors with the launch of the Presence Multi-Sensor FP300. The battery-operated device packs five sensors, including PRI, mmWave, light, temperature, and humidity, and can detect presence in a room with precision down to someone's chest rising and falling when they breathe. The FP300 can operate on two CR2450 batteries for up to two years over Thread and three years using Zigbee and a connection to an Aqara hub.
The company has also announced an updated climate sensor, the Climate Sensor W100, which features an integrated display that can show room temperature, humidity, and more. Three wireless buttons can be programmed to control any connected smart device, including a thermostat. Additionally, Aqara has launched the Hub M100, a small, discreet smart home hub that includes Wi-Fi, Thread, and Zigbee connectivity to enable connections for all of Aqara's smart devices as well as third-party Matter devices.
The new devices are expected to be available in the US later this year, with the EU version of the Panel Hub S1 Plus launching later this month. The launch of these new devices demonstrates Aqara's commitment to providing users with a range of options for controlling their smart homes, and its focus on making smart home technology more accessible and user-friendly.
