Apple Intelligence, the tech giant's highly anticipated AI platform, has finally arrived, but it's failing to impress. The debut features, including glowing gradients, writing tools, and an AI eraser in Photos, are underwhelming and don't deliver the time-saving computing capabilities promised.
The platform's current features, such as notification summaries and a focus mode, are functional but don't feel particularly innovative or game-changing. The AI eraser in Photos, while impressive, is only on par with Google's older Magic Eraser tool.
Even Siri, which has been upgraded with natural language handling and product knowledge, feels like the same old assistant with a fresh coat of paint. The real innovations, including contextual awareness and app integration, are promised for 2025.
Apple's playing catch-up to Google and Samsung, and while the company has hinted at more impressive features to come, the current state of Apple Intelligence is a letdown. The tech community will be watching closely to see if Apple can deliver on its promises and create a cohesive set of time-saving AI tools.
