Angry Miao, a renowned keyboard maker, has ventured into the gaming mouse market with its debut product, the AM Infinity Mouse. This innovative device boasts a skeletonized magnesium-alloy shell, weighing a mere 49 grams, making it one of the lightest full-size mice available. The real showstopper, however, is its hot-swap battery system, which allows users to replace the battery in seconds, ensuring uninterrupted gaming sessions.
The AM Infinity Mouse's design is inspired by the Lotus Evanora concept and late-1970s Lotus Type 79 F1 car, resulting in a unique, automotive-art-inspired aesthetic. While the open design may not appeal to everyone, it provides a significant weight reduction, making the mouse feel snappy and solid in the hand. The device's ergonomics may not comfortably accommodate users with small hands, but for those with average-sized hands, it provides a comfortable grip.
In terms of specifications, the AM Infinity Mouse features an 8,000Hz polling rate, a PixArt PAW3950 optical sensor capable of 30,000 DPI, and TTC Orange Dot Optical V2 micro switches with a tactile click. The mouse also supports 2.4GHz connectivity, Bluetooth, and wired USB-C connections. Angry Miao claims that the device can last up to 17 hours on a single charge when using 8,000Hz polling over 2.4GHz wireless, and up to 43 hours when bumped down to 1,000Hz.
The wireless receiver puck features RGB lighting that indicates charging status, making it easy to keep track of the battery's condition. The mouse's hot-swap battery system is a significant advantage over traditional gaming mice, which often require a cable to charge. Angry Miao's solution provides a convenient and clutter-free experience, allowing users to focus on their gaming sessions without interruptions.
In a market dominated by established brands like Logitech, Razer, and SteelSeries, the AM Infinity Mouse offers a unique blend of style, functionality, and performance. With a starting price of $125 on Kickstarter, it's competitively priced, especially considering its innovative features. While it may not be for everyone, the AM Infinity Mouse is an exciting addition to the gaming mouse market, and its debut is sure to generate buzz among gamers and tech enthusiasts alike.
As the gaming peripheral market continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how the AM Infinity Mouse fares against its competitors. One thing is certain, however – Angry Miao's bold entry into the gaming mouse market has set a new standard for innovation and design.
