African Exodus: Top 10 Countries with Citizens Seeking Migration

A recent survey by Gallup has shed light on the top 10 African countries where citizens are seeking migration, with West Africa dominating the list. The survey, which interviewed nearly 146,000 adults in 142 countries, found that more than a third of Africans want to move permanently to live somewhere else, driven by economic hardship and the hope for better opportunities.

The top 10 countries with the highest push for migration in Africa are Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Congo, Nigeria, Gambia, Comoros, Togo, Eswatini, and Guinea, with at least half of the population in these countries desiring migration to another region. This trend is not unique to Africa, as citizens from other regions, including migrant-receiving countries like the United States and Canada, are also seeking better opportunities elsewhere.

The survey's findings have significant implications for the tech and startup community, highlighting the need for innovative solutions to address the economic and social challenges driving migration. As the African continent continues to experience rapid growth and urbanization, startups and entrepreneurs have a critical role to play in creating opportunities and driving economic development.
