Nick Statt, senior producer of The Verge's popular Decoder podcast, has given us a rare glimpse into his home office setup, showcasing his impressive collection of tech devices, art pieces, and a special furry friend.
Statt's home office, located in his Rochester, New York, townhome, is a testament to his love for technology and comfort. The room, which doubles as a gaming station, is equipped with a bamboo Jarvis Fully standing desk, a custom Herman Miller Embody chair, and a Rama Works M60-A keyboard in a Lunar New Year Edition color scheme. The keyboard, which Statt admits cost more than he'd like to admit, has been his daily driver for four years, and he's customized it with NovelKeys Cream switches and quieter stabilizers.
Statt's tech setup also includes a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro, a Logitech M720 wireless mouse, a Shure MV7 microphone, Logitech Brio webcam, and Sony MDR-7506 monitor headphones. He uses a TP-Link Deco mesh node to hardwire his gaming desktop and ensure reliable wireless connectivity throughout his apartment. An Anker USB-C docking station and a Belkin 3-in-1 wireless charger complete his setup.
For gaming, Statt relies on his prebuilt Maingear Vybe PC, featuring an Nvidia 3070 Ti and AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. He pairs it with a Glorious Model O wireless mouse, a Halo Infinite-themed Xbox Elite 2 controller, and a 27-inch LG QHD UltraGear monitor. A HyperX Cloud wireless headset rounds out his gaming setup.
Statt's office is also a reflection of his love for art and pop culture. His desk features a Takashi Murakami collaboration with Faze Clan, and his walls are adorned with artwork from Olly Moss, Dan Hipp, and other talented artists. A framed Elden Ring print and Verge photography prints also hang proudly in his office.
But Statt's office isn't just about tech and art – it's also a space for his furry companion, General Bean Sprout, a cat he adopted with his fiancée from Lollypop Farm in 2023. General Bean Sprout has become an integral part of Statt's daily routine, often greeting him in the morning by jumping onto his desk and rubbing his face against Statt's.
Statt's home office setup is a testament to his passion for technology, comfort, and creativity. As a senior producer of Decoder, he's constantly working on new projects, and his home office provides the perfect space for him to focus and be productive.
