In a stunning display of resilience and resourcefulness, an 8-year-old Zimbabwean boy named Tinotenda Pudu has survived five days in the Matusadona Game Park, home to numerous wild animals including lions and elephants. According to reports, Tinotenda utilized his knowledge of nature to stay alive, sleeping on a rocky perch, eating wild fruits, and digging tiny wells for drinking water.

The remarkable story was revealed by Mutsa Murombedzi, a member of the Zimbabwean parliament, who shared the details on social media platform X. The Zimbabwe Parks & Wildlife Management Authority has since confirmed the incident, although no further information was provided.

Tinotenda's ordeal began when he found himself alone in the game park, surrounded by the dangers of the wild. However, the young boy's awareness skills and knowledge of nature helped him to survive. He ate edible plants to sustain himself and used a stick to dig tiny wells into arid riverbeds, a technique commonly used in the region prone to drought.

Meanwhile, members of the nearby Nyaminyami tribe organized a search party and pounded drums every day to try and locate Tinotenda. However, it was the park authorities who eventually found and rescued him. In a heart-stopping moment, Tinotenda heard a ranger's car on his fifth day in the game park and sprinted towards it, nearly missing it. Fortunately, the rangers returned, spotted "fresh little human footprints," and searched until they located him.

The Matusadona Game Park, which spans over 1,470 square kilometers (570 square miles), is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including antelope, zebras, elephants, hippos, and lions. According to data from African Parks, the park is home to around forty lions, making it one of the largest concentrations of lions in Africa.
